Membership

Place one block.
Get your readers back.

Relay is closed while the exchange settles in: members are the newsrooms of the MIB network, added by hand. Outside publishers will be admitted once the mechanics have run in production for a while.

What a member does

01

Carries the block

One script tag below the article body or on the section page. It renders four headlines from other members, in the language of the page.

02

Offers its own material

Fresh articles enter the pool automatically — headline, image and link. Nothing else is taken, and no full text is ever republished.

03

Reads its own ledger

Every member has a public page showing what it gave, what it got and who it traded with. The numbers should match its own analytics; if they do not, that is a bug worth reporting.

The tag

Attributes: data-count — how many cards (1–12, default 4). data-lang — override the language. data-label — your own heading for the block. data-target — a CSS selector for where it should render; without it the block appears where the tag sits.

<script src="https://relay.mib.news/w.js" data-key="pk_your_key" data-count="4" async></script>

What Relay does not do

No cookies, no profiles

The block sets nothing on the reader's machine and builds no profile. Clicks are stored with a salted one-way hash of IP and user agent, kept only to spot floods.

No hotlinking

Preview images are fetched once, cropped and served from Relay. A member's own servers carry none of the load of appearing in other members' blocks.

No paid slots

Nothing in a block is bought. Every card in it is there because a member earned the position by sending readers to someone else.
